Graduate students at the Center for Limnology are generally admitted into the Freshwater and Marine Sciences or Integrative Biology graduate programs. If you are interested in joining my lab, please email me (mjvanderzand@wisc.edu) a CV and a statement of your research interests. On average I accept one new graduate student per year, depending on research grant funding. It may be a little while before I get back to you. I encourage you to get in touch with the other faculty at the Center for Limnology.
Postdoctoral – Postdoctoral positions are advertised as they become available. Currently I do not have any postdoctoral openings.
Undergraduate – The Vander Zanden Lab involves many undergraduates in research. Numerous undergraduates are employed during the summer field season based at UW-Madison Center for Limnology’s Trout Lake Station (Boulder Junction), Hasler Lab (Madison), and elsewhere. Many undergraduates are also involved in research during the academic year through directed studies (Zoo 699) projects. Please contact me at mjvanderzand@wisc.edu if you are interested in working in my lab.
UW-Madison is committed to providing opportunities to people from all backgrounds to help create a welcoming, empowered, and inclusive community. UW-Madison encourages women, minorities, veterans, and people with disabilities to apply.
